Red Alert 2 (CnCNet) | The Great Divide | Extra Hard AI Original Name: | The Great Divide (2-8) Link of Map: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p1RY... A. Map name: | The Great Divide B. Game mode: Standard C. Number of players: 8 (1 human vs 7 AI) D. Map size: 200 × 200 (Very Large) E. Author: Unknown F. Type: Large Island / Water-Divided Battlefield G. Theme: Temperate / Greenland with Large Water Channels H. Play Style: Strategic Expansion, Naval Combat, Resource Control & Multi-Front Battles 👉 This is a large 8-player Yuri’s Revenge map divided by a major body of water, with two broad land zones, scattered ore fields, and several crossing points that make expansion and territorial control very important. ________________________________________ Map Layout Overview 1. Two Major Zones • Northern Zone – Contains Players 1, 2, 3 and 8, with several large land areas and multiple ore fields. • Southern Zone – Contains Players 4, 5, 6 and 7, with broad open terrain and several resource-rich areas. • Central Divide – A large water gap separates the two sides, while smaller islands and narrow land passages create important routes between them. This area favors: • Strategic expansion – Players must carefully secure additional territory and resources. • Naval and amphibious operations – The large water areas provide opportunities for naval units and transport-based attacks. • Chokepoint control – Bridges, narrow coastlines, and central crossings can become important defensive positions. ________________________________________ 2. Player Starting Positions • Northern side: Players 1, 2, 3 and 8 are positioned around the upper landmass, giving them relatively close access to their own resource areas. • Southern side: Players 4, 5, 6 and 7 occupy the lower landmass, with Player 5 positioned toward the southeastern-central area. • Central positions: Players 5 and 6 are relatively close to the central divide, making this area an important zone for early expansion and potential conflict. ________________________________________ 3. Resource Distribution (Yellow Ore Fields) • Ore is spread across both major land zones, so neither side is completely dependent on the other for its initial economy. • Several large yellow ore concentrations appear around the central and southern areas, creating valuable expansion targets. • Remote ore fields away from the starting bases encourage players to expand and defend additional mining locations as the game progresses. ________________________________________ Gameplay Flow Early Game • Players establish their bases and immediately secure the nearby yellow ore fields. • The water divide slows direct attacks, giving players time to build their economies and defenses. • Early scouting is important for discovering enemy expansion routes and determining which central areas should be contested. ________________________________________ Mid Game • Expansion toward the central divide and additional ore fields becomes increasingly important. • Naval forces, air units, and amphibious attacks can be used to bypass heavily defended land approaches. • Players begin fighting for strategic territory, especially around the central resource areas and narrow crossings. ________________________________________ Late Game • The battlefield can develop into multi-directional attacks, with players attacking from land, water, and potentially air. • Controlling the central resources can provide a major economic advantage during prolonged battles. • Large armies, naval fleets, and superweapons can eventually turn the map into a large-scale battle across both northern and southern zones. ________________________________________ 👉 Overall pace: Medium to Long-paced, strategic and expansion-focused. The large 200×200 battlefield and major water divide make the opening relatively defensive, while the mid-to-late game becomes much more aggressive as players compete for central resources and additional territory.
