Bomb-Proof vs. Substantial Anchor Systems

For 2-point or more anchors, Bombproof isn’t just about strength….. its also about adding in enough redundancy to ensure that there is no shift in the alignment should one part fail. Bombproof has two aspects to consider. The obvious aspect being strength. However the other aspect that is often not as obvious is the “redundancy of position”….. which really only applies to 2-point or more anchor systems…. This means that if there was a failure, a bombproof system would not shift positionally, e.g. there would be no change in the projected load line or direction of pull…. that’s important especially when talking about edge trauma/protection. Correction: At 17:50, In order to be truly independently redundant I should have tied two separate knots with a jumper between them and then clipped each knot into their own carabiner.
