#Jharkhand Eco Resort. #Massanjore Dam and Resorvoir. On the 7th of October we left for Massanjore from Murshidabad by road in order to celebrate Siddhartha 's birthday which was on the 19th of October. From Koljata Massanjore can be reached by train .From Howrah station one can catch Jamalpur Ganadebota Exoress , or Mayurakshi Express or Kabiguru Express. The nearest stations to Massanjore was the Dumka Station. Sometimes one can also come via Suiri Station.From any Station one can rent an auto or a car. We had reached early was hanging out in the dinning hall as rooms are allocated only at 2pm. But seeing that we were senior citizens , we were were the first to be alloted rooms. Our rooms were next to each other We had booked the spacious cottages made from pine and spruce wood. Our friends Mala di and family came at 1pm..We hanged around in our balconies for some time and then went down for Lunch. Lunch consisted of rice , chapati , Lentil, Alu bhagi,Egg curry as well as Chicken curry ,and some vegetarian dishes.. Here every meal is to be ordered much in advance preferably during the last meal. As we had started very early , both the families were very tired and thus rested. We work up to see the redort beautifully lighted.The lawn looked like the Queen's Necklace. In the evening we spent quality time on our balcony over some tasty snacks. We woke up the next morning to the sweet melody of birds. After breakfast we went to see the Massanjore Dam.This dam not only stores water but also produces hydroelectric power. The The dam also known as the Canada Dam as it was constructed with financial and technical help from Canada. This dam is constructed across the Mayurakshi River. During the construction of the dam , villages were submerged and 7500 villagers had to be recocated. This Resorvoir is also called the Massanjore Lake and there are boating facilities in the Massanjore Lake. Thre several places for boating. We went to the one nearest to our resort. After a very good boating session for an hour we went to Zoox for Lunch. Zoox is just a month old has serves not only good food but also the interiors are well done.It was a great pre Birthday Lunch which we all enjoyed. Post lunch we went to Dumka to purchase a birthday cake for Siddhartha from Seventh Heaven.
