Major energy milestone! Yangkou Port welcomes 900th LNG tanker in East China

The Bahamas-flagged LNG carrier “Ushakov” berthed at the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port in Rudong, Nantong, Jiangsu Province on October 9, 2026. It was the 900th LNG vessel the terminal has received since it began operations in May 2011. The vessel unloaded 74,300 tons of LNG, enough to meet the daily gas demand of about 200 million households. The clean energy will be delivered via pipeline to the Yangtze River Delta region. It supports nearly 30% of Jiangsu Province's natural gas supply and provides green energy for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta region. Rudong Customs launched a “one-time boarding” inspection mechanism to meet LNG vessels’ short berthing windows and high unloading efficiency requirements. It integrates health quarantine, vessel and cargo inspection, enabling inspection upon arrival and simultaneous unloading. At the port frontline, the border inspection authorities are also providing support for efficient LNG vessel unloading. Notably, the milestone from the 800th to the 900th vessel was achieved in just 394 days, 36 days shorter than the previous 100-vessel cycle, reflecting continuous improvements in LNG unloading efficiency. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
