The cool, overcast day brought soft light to views of the CN Tower, Exhibition Place, Lake Ontario, and downtown Toronto through the hotel’s floor-to-ceiling windows. The morning began with Crystal and Dan preparing in separate spaces at Hotel X Toronto. Dan got ready in a hotel suite with his friends, Crystal’s father, and her son. They helped one another with ties, jackets, and boutonnieres, joked together, and enjoyed a relaxed morning. Dan’s love of comic books and superheroes appeared through details in his clothing and his friends’ accessories, adding something playful and personal to the film. Crystal prepared with her bridesmaids, friends, and daughter in The Pearl, Hotel X Toronto’s bridal suite. The room was filled with purple dresses, flowers, gifts, makeup, and everyone helping one another get ready. Crystal had prepared presents and large plush toys to thank the people who supported her, creating some of the sweetest moments of the morning. Once everyone was ready, we went outside to Stanley Barracks for the first look. Dan, Crystal’s father, and her son all saw Crystal in her wedding dress at the same time. Their reactions made this one of the most emotional moments of the day. There were tears, embraces, laughter, and a few quiet seconds when everyone simply took in the moment together. After the first look, Crystal and Dan took portraits around Stanley Barracks. We also filmed their family and wedding party before everyone returned to Hotel X Toronto. The ceremony took place in The View, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Toronto. Before reading their vows, Crystal and Dan played rock, paper, scissors to decide who would go first. It was spontaneous, affectionate, and completely true to them. The ceremony moved between laughter and tears, with reactions from their children, parents, family, and friends. After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktails before continuing to New Fort Hall for dinner. Purple and lavender, Crystal’s favourite colours, appeared throughout the flowers, table settings, wedding party attire, lighting, and cake. The parents and wedding party made their grand entrances before Crystal and Dan entered and moved directly into their first dance. Dinner was relaxed and personal, with heartfelt speeches, funny stories, emotional reactions, and plenty of laughter. After the cake cutting and family dances, the formal evening gave way to a late-night party. This Hotel X Toronto wedding film preserves not only the main events, but also the moments between them: hands helping with wedding attire, glances during the ceremony, emotional family reactions, friends laughing together, and Crystal and Dan continually finding each other throughout the celebration. Alexandra photographed the wedding, while Vladimir filmed the day. Together, Nadtochiy Photography preserved Crystal and Dan’s celebration through both wedding photography and cinematography. We first photographed Crystal and Dan during their winter engagement session at the University of Toronto in February 2026.
