McAfee in 1901, is a cherished Christian hymn expressing the comfort, peace, and assurance found in God's presence. The hymn was written during a time of personal grief for McAfee, following the loss of two young nieces. Its message reflects the deep need for divine comfort when human words seem insufficient. The first verse speaks of a place of quiet rest, reminding us that God offers refuge from the struggles and burdens of life. The second verse describes the sweetness of finding comfort in the presence of our Savior. Through prayer and fellowship with Christ, believers can experience the reassurance of His love and care. The final verse looks toward the fullness of joy and peace found in God. Its words express the hope that, through Christ, our deepest burdens can be surrendered and our hearts renewed. The refrain becomes a simple but powerful prayer: “Hold us who wait before Thee near to the heart of God.” 🎤 Use This Hymn For • Congregational singing in church • Sabbath worship services • Prayer meetings and spiritual retreats • Bible study and devotional time • Personal worship and prayer • Funeral and memorial services • Pastoral care and comfort ministries • Services focused on peace and encouragement • Choir and special music presentations • Teaching hymns to a new generation If this hymn is useful for your church or worship team, share it with someone who could be encouraged by its message. 🔔 Subscribe to Blessed Hope Hymns for more hymn lyric videos created for worship, congregational singing, Bible study, and personal devotion. 📖 Blessed Hope Hymns shares timeless Christian hymns and worship resources for believers seeking to keep these songs of faith alive for a new generation. #NearToTheHeartOfGod #HymnLyrics #ChristianHymns #PrayerHymns #ChurchWorship #CongregationalSinging #SabbathWorship #AdventistHymns
