Painting an Old World troll

The trolls have arrived in The Old World and there they truely belong. While the actual reason I painted up this metalic Games Workshop river troll was because I wanted to try a color scheme from The Darkest Dungeon the resulting style could be very suitable for The Old World. Especially if you want to combine the classical looney theme of the orcs and goblins together with the Grimdark asthethic. The trolls are, and will forever be some of the best miniatures Games Workshop has produced, unlike the dwarves previewed (if you ask me). 0:00 Introduction 0:36 Inspiration from The Darkest Dungeon 1:26 Oil contrast paint 5:30 Why this Old World troll 7:04 Smudgebrush 8:48 The Darkest Dungeon style 9:26 Pure black contours 10:10 Finished result
