Star of the County Down

Played on diatonic autoharp in Eb/Bb and tuned compatible with bagpipe temperament. This instrument is amplified via a factory magnetic pickup, running through a Fender keyboard amp to my rear. Effects are from an H2O running only moderate echo. The instrument is a 1979-83 Oscar Schmidt Centurion enhanced with fine tuners, custom chord bars, and only notes for Eb and Bb. There are two damper bars, which I play with my thumb to isolate a single scale for open noting (a "lock bar" that doesn't lock). On this tune I am playing without picks, yet my nails are reinforced by getting acrylics maintained every two weeks. I use three fingers and thumb.
