1991 IFMAR Worlds Austin Texas

1991 IFMAR Worlds Austin Texas The 4th IFMAR Worlds to be held in the US. Usually the Worlds should rotate between the Europe, Asia and the US but apparently Asia didn't have a candidate for the 1991 Worlds so after the 1987 Worlds in Pomona 4 years later we were back in the US again. There is probably an 'official' tape somewhere (Ray Wood???) but this is my take. I don't have a strong recollection of this Worlds. Michael Salven had now joined Serpent as the chief designer and our nbr. 1 driver, Rody Roem had left us to start his own business in France: RB Products. It was yet again Lamberto Collari from Italy who was crowned World Champion, 2nd time in a row and as we now know many to follow! IFMAR President Ted Longshaw presented the trophies with his usual British humor.
