Why Is Iraola OBSESSED With Klopp's Most Twisted Experiment

Szoboszlai Is What Iraola Warned Us About When Dominik Szoboszlai curled in a stoppage-time worldie from 25 yards against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, Andoni Iraola didn't just praise the goal. He said something far more revealing: with Dom, before he even shoots, everyone already believes he might score. In this video, we break down why that sentence matters. From Szoboszlai's arrival from Leipzig to his Player of the Season campaign in 2025-26, a year Liverpool finished fifth while he was repeatedly pushed to right-back, to the moment Iraola arrived from Bournemouth and told him he wouldn't be playing there anymore. We look at the promise, how quickly it was tested, and what the first six games of the Iraola era actually tell us: the last-gasp penalty at Newcastle, the equaliser against Atletico Madrid on Iraola's Champions League debut, the difficult afternoon against Fulham, and the ongoing debate over where Szoboszlai really belongs in a 6-8-10 midfield. Is Szoboszlai the player Iraola's system will live or die by? Or is it far too early to tell?
