The factory Datsun 240Z clutch and brake pedals in operate separate master cylinders bolted to the firewall. These pedals sure looked tired and were in need of an upgrade. For project 2J-Z, I decided to take notes from Raw Brokerage’s build of John’s car and install a Wilwood pedal box as well as Greg’s Z Power Steering (ZPS). With these two products onboard, this car is going to brake much better and the steering is going to be like butter. One of the biggest headaches with these older cars is the lack of technological advancements that sometimes prohibit a driver from enjoying the car as much as they’d like. From my experience, these items make it challenging to drive in certain situations and with the resources and products available on the market today, I decided to take the plunge and give these a shot. Backing the pedal box are three separate Tilton 74 Series master cylinders that mount under the dash and will have remote mounted reservoirs under the factory inspection panel under the hood. This will allow a more clean engine bay and overall improved braking performance.
