10 Apache Scouts Who Hunted Their Own People

#ApacheWars #NativeAmericanHistory #WildWestHistory Did you know that the Apache scouts who tracked down Geronimo — the men who walked unarmed into his camp under a white flag and talked him into surrendering — were rewarded by being loaded onto the same train to Florida as the warriors they'd just captured, and told they were now prisoners of war? Some of them were wearing Medals of Honor when the army did it. These were White Mountain and Chiricahua Apache men who enlisted under the U.S. Army and hunted their own people across Arizona and the Sierra Madre. A few won America's highest military honor. Others were hanged, shot, or beaten to death by the soldiers they served beside. This is a countdown of 10 Apache scouts who killed their own kind for the United States — what each of them actually did, what it cost them, and how the country they served repaid the debt.
