Living on $2 a Day with a $300 Salary in Vietnam

What does life look like when you earn around $300 a month and try to keep your food and personal spending under $2 a day? In my first vlog, I’ll show you an ordinary day in my life as a low-income father living with my family in a small village in Hanoi, Vietnam. My day begins with a simple breakfast before I take a motorbike taxi to collect my broken motorbike from the repair shop. The repair costs almost one full day of my income, turning a normal day into another unexpected challenge for my monthly budget. After getting my motorbike back, I visit a nearby AEON store, compare food prices, and put back the things that are not worth buying. Later, I stop for a simple one-dollar meal before going to my daughter’s school to pick her up. The $2 daily budget in this video is for my food and small personal expenses after the fixed costs of my family have been considered. It does not include housing, electricity, school fees, or every expense in our household. There is no travel budget, luxury lifestyle, or professional film crew here—just my camera and an honest look at how I try to make a small income last in Vietnam. This is my first vlog, so I am still learning how to film, edit, and tell my story. The video may not be perfect, but the life you see here is real.
