From Butcher to Table! Meat.Hala: Fresh Lebanese Meat, Restaurant Experience in Jbeil 🇱🇧

Meat Hala in Jbeil is not your typical Lebanese restaurant. It’s a butcher-to-table experience built around one thing: fresh meat. The family behind Meat Hala has been in the meat business for years, operating their own slaughterhouse, bringing in livestock, slaughtering locally and supplying butcher shops, supermarkets and restaurants across Jbeil and Keserwan. Around seven years ago, they decided to bring that experience directly to customers with Meat Hala. Walk inside and you might wonder: is it a butcher shop, a Lebanese restaurant or a street-food spot? It’s actually all three. You can stand at the butcher counter, choose your cut, have it sliced and skewered in front of you, then grilled to order. Much of the menu revolves around fresh lamb, including Lebanese Awassi sheep. We started with a beautiful selection of Lebanese raw meat before moving to the sandwiches. Kebabs, spicy kebab, lamb, makanek and even traditional cuts such as tongues and spinal cord — simple preparations designed to keep the flavor of the meat at the center. Their lamb is seasoned simply, with salt rather than heavy spices, allowing the meat itself to speak. But Meat Hala goes much further than grilled meat and sandwiches. The table quickly became a celebration of Lebanese comfort food: stuffed grape leaves, rice with meat, fawaregh and traditional dishes you might expect to find in a Lebanese village or at home rather than inside a butcher-style restaurant. What impressed me most was the quality and simplicity. Fresh meat, charcoal grilling, soft bread, straightforward ingredients and Lebanese flavors without unnecessary complications.
