EKA: The Connection | Performed by Fofoo Attiso & African Dance Rhythms Ensemble

EKA is the connection at the heart of KALAJAH. Drawn from the idea of a rope that binds and strengthens, EKA represents the connection between the individual and the community, the dancer and the drummer, the present and ancestral memory, and people across generations and cultures. In this performance, Fofoo Attiso and the African Dance Rhythms Ensemble bring EKA to life through movement, rhythm, energy and collective expression. EKA forms part of KALAJAH, an original African dance creation developed by Fofoo Attiso and African Dance Rhythms. Kalajah explores African rhythm and movement as tools for storytelling, connection, cultural expression and inner strength. Through EKA, the dancers remind us that movement is not only something we perform — it is something that connects us.
