Shivratri is the crown of our festivals and is spread over a complete fortnight of the Phalguna month. Among the Kashmiri Pandits, this is called Herath, a phonetic derivation of Har-ratri the night time of Hara (Shiva). It is a socio-spiritual characteristic that is the very part of our lifestyles. It is thought that each Kashmiri lady is a Parvati and is wedded to Shiva.
