Moses stands at the burning bush carrying forty years of failure, distance, and receipts for why he is not the man to go back to Egypt. God does not answer Moses by building up Moses' self-esteem. God answers, “I will certainly be with you.” The question shifts from “Who am I?” to “Who is with me?” God’s presence proves greater than every deficiency, every old mistake, every closed door, and every reason insecurity gives for staying stuck. Yahweh, Jehovah, the LORD in all capital letters, reveals more than a label. God’s name is revelation. Human beings have to put something after “I am”: successful, afraid, broken, unwanted, behind, struggling. God alone says, “I am,” period. God needs no title, relationship, applause, accomplishment, or validation to complete who He is. The One who does not need anybody still chooses to be with His people, which means loss cannot have the final word over those held by the great I AM. Elohim reveals the mighty Creator who can speak worlds into existence. Yahweh reveals that this same Creator comes close enough to form humanity from dust, breathe life, speak, and enter covenant relationship. Elohim says He can. Yahweh says He cares. Christianity cannot stop at knowing God’s resume, knowing that He heals, provides, and opens doors. God calls His people to know His heart, His nature, and His holy name. His name cannot be handled casually, attached to manipulation, or used to cosign personal preferences. Yahweh tells enslaved Israel, “I have seen, I have heard, I know, and I have come down.” Suffering may make heaven feel silent, but God sees what others missed, hears the cries nobody else heard, knows the weight nobody else understands, and comes down to rescue. Yahweh protects His people, not by promising a storm-free life, but by refusing to let what threatens them have ultimate authority over them. Noah still faced the flood, but the LORD shut him in. Jesus carries this revelation to its fullness when He declares, “Before Abraham was, I am.” The eternal Word becomes flesh. The Creator steps into creation. God comes down in Christ, not merely to improve circumstances, but to make Himself known. Yahweh gives grace when the train arrives, not for every imagined tomorrow today. No person arrives at a moment where God must play catch-up. The great I AM is already there. == [00:00] - Welcome [01:17] - Moses Asks, Who Am I?
