When a group of workers on a routine drainage project accidentally discovered something buried in a cave in the Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, they could never have predicted that it would become one of the most significant archaeological discoveries ever made in Britain – a 10,000 Mesolithic skeleton known as Cheddar Man.
