AAVYA: AI-Assisted Victim Well-being & Assessment
Smart India Hackathon 2026, National Round
Problem Statement ID: 26094
Theme: MedTech / BioTech / HealthTech
Team: AstraCoders
Problem
Victims of atrocities often face prolonged legal processes that can affect their emotional well-being. Human support cannot be available for every check-in, and long questionnaires or repeated questions can feel like another interrogation.
Our Solution
AAVYA is a simple, voluntary support and monitoring layer with two parts:
1. Victim App
Simple consent in plain language
"How are you feeling today?" with an emoji mood check and optional voice guidance
Optional reason: choose a category, speak, skip, or "I don't want to say"
"Help Me Feel Better": short activities such as breathing, music and a walk
"Things That Help Me": a personal list of helpful activities and trusted people
Mood history and a short periodic self-assessment
"I need help now": a route to human support
2. Authorised Professional Dashboard
Mood timeline and assessment trend
Neutral review flags that show the reason and timeframe
Professional notes and role-based access
What AAVYA does NOT do
No diagnosis
No lie detection
No legal conclusions
No forced participation
AI organises and flags change, and authorised professionals interpret and decide.
Designed with expert guidance
Psychology guidance: simple, activity-based, human-centred design
Legal guidance: consent, privacy, neutrality and human involvement
Technical mentor guidance: multi-channel and ecosystem-aware design
