Rousham | England's Most Beautiful Garden?... With Mike Turner

Often described as the purest expression of the English landscape garden, Rousham in Oxfordshire has remained true to William Kent’s original 18th-century vision. With its sweeping lawns, meandering walks, classical temples and artfully framed vistas, Rousham became a model for generations of designers – and unlike many grand estates endlessly reshaped over time, it remains virtually untouched. In this video, garden historian Mike Turner takes us through the glorious landscapes to be found here, showing how its garden evolved from Kent’s pioneering vision into a masterpiece that still inspires today.
