:: Full Sea Lion Show at :: Mystic Aquarium

0:00 - The Pre-show always starts with the lights going out, and the screen showing a safety reminder 0:09 gives you a great overview of the whole theater! At around 0:50 you’ll hear a long whistle that tells the sea lions to enter the back because the show is about to start! 0:53 - Gives a bit of an overview on the amazing work that Mystic Aquarium has done 1:51 - The Opening starts with the “party guest” coming down to check the mail 2:39 - The “party guest” will always give the electric bill to a lucky guest, it’s usually a little kid. If the kid rejects it then they’ll give it to someone else lol 3:03 - Sakari comes out to give the “party guest” the invitation letter 3:23 - Sakari taps her trainer and vocalizes not long after 3:46 - Celebration mostly starts with some behaviors, then the introduction to the three “party hosts” 4:02 - Clara is sent out to do a bow 4:08 - Sakari & Maia are doing some sort of back flipper dance 4:09 - Sakari does some bows 4:30 - They introduce the sea lions starting with Clara! 4:55 Sakari is introduced 5:12 Maia is last! 5:27 - Maia does almost a fast spin(I always love seeing each girl do this in their own way!) 5:34 - Clara is sent on a speed swim, but I don’t catch it right away 5:39 - Sakari does a pole jump, kinda like what the orcas do with the target pole or ball in the old days! 5:45 - all three of the girls come out and do a handstand almost 6:05 - Megan kinda gives a little chat about the party, and tells the audience that she’s with Sakari 6:22 you can see that handstand behavior better 6:33 Sakari agrees with Megan and nodds her head(they actually don’t do this that often!) 6:40 you can really show just how flexible the sea lion neck is! 7:02 - MJ comes back with some party supplies that are not good for the environment 7:41 - The “party guest” purposefully throws the plastic bottle into the pool 7:56 - Clara retrieves the bottle, and disposes of it correctly 8:06 - Malone explains why plastic is bad for the environment 8:17 it's always so cute to see the girls look embarrassed, or sad while their trainer is explaining 8:39 - all three girls blow bubbles in the water(always very cute) 8:47 - Maia stands on her trainer to represent a growing tree! 9:07 - Maia presses the button on the remote 9:10 - this whole short segment is a bunch of the other animals joining in the party, and “dancing” to the music! 9:58 - MJ comes back with much better party supplies 10:09 - Maia has water poured in her mouth 10:30 - the “party guest” has the sea lion(in this case Maia) hold a fish in her mouth, you can’t see it that well from where I was sitting but I have a ton of pictures of this up close, and it’s so adorable! 10:55 - Maia is sad that she’s alone without any of her friends 11:11 - Maia calls out to Sakari 11:19 - Sakari responds 11:30 - Maia & Sakari kiss each other as their greeting!! 12:03 - the girls spin with the wheel as the party game is picked 13:01 - the girls show how they move their flippers independently 13:10 - the girls move their flippers together(I mostly focus on Maia because she’s closer) 13:17 - Maia does a handstand, but is out because MJ didn’t say “MJ says” so they walk off very sad 13:47 - Sakari opens her mouth(Clara’s in the pool, I’m unsure if she was supposed to do that) 14:00 - Clara & Sakari show their flexible necks 14:07 - Clara vocalizes(very ferocious lol) but is out because once again MJ didn’t say “MJ says” 14:40 - Sakari does her victory lap! 15:32 - this is the segment where one of the three girls comes out, this time it’s Maia! While Maia is out she does some of the basic behaviors, and it really varies depending on what the trainer has the sea lion do! This time around Amanda has a target pole, I think it’s because Maia is the shyest and sometimes comes out, but then goes right back into the pool 17:18 - One of the last segments starts, this is mostly just chatting, and how the public can help Mystic Aquariums conservation efforts, and how they can donate! 18:02 - Today someone actually had a birthday shout out during the show!! This obviously doesn’t happen every day, but you can customize what is shown on the screen, the trainers will announce it, and will sing you happy birthday!! Sometimes the girls will join in too! 18:30 - Dynamite starts with Clara following Malone The sea lion/trainer pair on the platform will start it, then the light will go to the other two at stage, and they’ll do the same thing 19:17 - Clara does some bows Once again like the opening segments, the girls at stage do random behaviors 19:30 - Maia goes on top of the “plank” 19:47 - Maia does the pole jump If you would like to use this footage please ask for permission first, ALWAYS credit me, and NEVER use it for anti-cap purposes, if I catch you breaking the rules then trust me, I’ll take you down. :)
