Papdi by Azam Khan- Cover by Faisal

Papri | Azam Khan | New Cover by Arif Faisal Some melodies never grow old. They live in our memories, carried from one generation to the next. “Papri”, the timeless creation of Bangladesh’s legendary Pop Guru Azam Khan, is a song of love, longing, and the quiet ache of separation. With music composed by Monjur Babu and Azam Khan’s unmistakable vocal expression, the song remains a cherished part of Bangladesh’s musical heritage. This new cover version by Arif Faisal brings a fresh musical perspective to the classic while preserving the soul and emotional essence of the original. The new arrangement, contemporary production, carefully shaped instrumental textures, use of cello and violin and refined sonic treatment give the song a renewed atmosphere, allowing its timeless melody to connect with today’s listeners. This is not an attempt to recreate or compare with the original. It is simply a small offering of love, gratitude, and deep respect to Pop Guru Azam Khan, whose music has inspired generations of listeners and guitarists. Rather than recreating the past, this version seeks to honour the legacy while presenting “Papri” through a fresh musical lens, introducing the beauty of this masterpiece to a new generation. A legendary song. A timeless melody. A new interpretation. A bridge between generations. “Papri” is more than a song. It is a memory that refuses to fade.
