Starting from AMK Hub Basement 1, this walk begins near the underground mall connection linked to Ang Mo Kio MRT Station NS16. The route moves through the basement retail and food areas, passing busy shopfronts, kiosks, jewellery stores, bakeries, snack counters, casual dining spots, escalators, and the everyday commuter flow between the MRT station, bus interchange, and mall. Ang Mo Kio MRT has a place in Singapore’s MRT history. The MRT system began operations on 7 November 1987 with the first five stations: Yio Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Braddell, and Toa Payoh. AMK Hub is closely tied to this transport setting, with official mall information describing it as connected to Ang Mo Kio MRT Station NS16 and Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange, with the MRT underpass about a 2-minute walk away. AMK Hub was officially opened on 22 September 2007. It was jointly developed by the Singapore Labour Foundation, NTUC Income, and NTUC FairPrice, and housed around 200 commercial tenants during its launch period. Today, the mall is described as having more than 200 shops across six levels, serving as one of the main retail and dining hubs in Ang Mo Kio town centre. The walk continues upward from B1 to L1, L2, and L3, showing brighter atrium views, dining areas, children’s rides, retail corridors, service outlets, food court seating, school and enrichment signage, healthcare and lifestyle shops, and quieter upper-level passages. The final stretch passes an NLB-branded wall area and children-themed corner before reaching a calmer lift lobby corridor.
