But as much as I love the television adaptation, the original story is even more disturbing! We'll examine the psychology of childhood, the terrifying consequences of power without accountability, and how Bixby's little masterpiece doubles as a chilling examination of dictatorship, authoritarianism, and a society that has learned to enforce its own captivity.
