A very busy 45 minutes of activity at Tring on the West Coast Main Line during the afternoon of the 15th November 2014. We see three international container freight trains go northbound during this short period! This station is 1½ miles away from the market town of the same name and is actually nearer to the village of Aldbury in the north west of Hertfordshire and it is situated approximately 28 miles to north of London Euston. Tring is the terminus for many local commuter services to/from London Euston too. As mentioned in my other two videos I filmed on this same day, the intercity services on the WCML were being ran by Virgin at the time I filmed this. Virgin Trains became the longest running rail franchise, which lasted from March 1997 at the start of privatisation and ended in December 2019. During this time, London Midland ran the local/commuter services out of London Euston and around the West Midlands, which was owned by Govia. This is the third upload out of four stations on the WCML I filmed on this day.
Trains included in the video:
Class 66s
Class 90
Class 221 Super Voyager DMU
Class 321 EMU
Class 350 Desiro EMUs
Class 390 Pendolino EMUs
Train operating companies featured:
London Midland (Now London Northwestern Railway, part of West Midlands Trains)
Virgin Trains (Now Avanti West Coast)
Freightliner
GB Railfreight
