The Dakota opened in 1985 at Bandana Square in St. Paul and became the Twin Cities' leading jazz club. It moved to downtown Minneapolis in 2003. Recorded live at the Dakota Bar & Grill, St. Paul, Minnesota, 1992 The set catches Henderson at the height of his late-career comeback. His Verve album Lush Life: The Music of Billy Strayhorn, released in 1992, topped Billboard's jazz chart for two months and won him a Grammy, bringing one of the most distinctive voices on the tenor saxophone back to the forefront of jazz.
