The (Unfortunate) Failure of RCA CED Selectavision | Movies on VINYL | History in the Dark

The Radio Corporation of America, RCA, attempted to craft their own format for home video known as Capacitance Electronic Disc, or CEV. It was, in effect, movies on vinyl just like music records though pressed and read differently. While considered a technical breakthrough and extremely impressive, it failed in the market against competing formats like VHS.
