Pack My Jack - J. J. Cale - Bass Cover - Request

Hello :) This is the requested transcription I did of the J.J. Cale song "Pack My Jack" from his 1981 album "Shades". The bass player on this track was Emory Gordy Jr. This transcription can be found at https://www.muzento.com under Intermediate - Learning Songs subject. I'm not that familiar with J.J. Cale's music, but it seems like he's been a big influence on many musicians. After working on this one, I can see why. There are a lot of really tasty, subtle things going on. I think he's a got a unique way of phrasing and playing the guitar, and some good lyrics. I really like Emory Gordy's playing. He plays a nice walking bass line with some tasteful patterns that would be very beneficial for one to understand how they're instructed...hint hint ;) I tried to really subdivide swung 8ths in my head when I was playing this. I found myself saying "ti - ka, ti - ka, ti - ka" to help. I think that's Tala? Keep your touch fairly light, and use open strings some of the times. It's fun to play along with.
