Itanagar | 17 July 2025: Amid widespread confusion and dissatisfaction, the results of the Constable GD (Civil Police) & Constable IRBN (Band/Burglar) Examination 2025, declared on 16th July, have sparked serious concerns across the state. As per official figures, only 20 candidates were selected out of 426 advertised posts, with just 2 girls making the cut out of 172 posts reserved for females, and 18 boys against 254 male vacancies. Public outrage is growing as aspirants and student leaders question the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) on several critical issues: 1. Why were only 20 candidates selected for 426 posts? 2. Why was negative marking introduced, especially when APSSB has never applied such a system in previous recruitment exams? 3. Why was there a 5-year delay between the vacancy notice (21/01/2020) and the examination date (13/07/2025)? 4. Why was the exam standard equivalent to graduates, despite being meant for 10th pass applicants? Student leader Tadak Nalo, who approached the APSSB office, raised these pointed questions, reflecting the voice of hundreds of aspirants seeking clarity and justice. As the controversy grows, the APSSB is yet to issue an official clarification. Aspirants are demanding immediate transparency and a re-evaluation of the selection process.
