Trinamool Congress leader and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee addressed a press conference strongly refuting allegations following a reported cash seizure of over one crore rupees from a party office in Sarisha. Producing letters and complaint acknowledgements submitted to the local police months earlier, he asserted that the premises had been ransacked and surrendered long ago, during which the party had officially warned authorities about potential conspiracies to plant incriminating evidence. Rebutting the claims, Banerjee stated, 'This evidence was deliberately planted,' alleging that police officials fabricated recoveries and coerced his personal aide Sumit Ray and party MLA Shamim Ahmed. Accusing district police leadership of operating under political directions to frame leaders, he demanded strict legal accountability. He asserted that electronic evidence, call logs, and surveillance footage would expose the allegations in court, demanding an independent judicial probe while warning complicit officials of criminal proceedings.
