Heels and a skirt on concrete

The sun was still warm in the sky as I put on my high heels, nude tights, and short denim skirt. I paused at the door and looked out at the old flagstone path winding its way between the houses. I took my first step cautiously. My heels clicked against the stone slabs with every stride. At first, I had to be careful, but I soon found my rhythm. A gentle breeze swept across the path, and I walked on, the soft clicking of my shoes accompanying the silence. The further I walked, the more confident I felt. The flagstone path suddenly seemed much longer than usual—and the short stroll turned into a surprisingly lovely adventure.
