A week across the county border in Dorset meant staying further away than usual from the donkeys, but we still managed to visit them at the sanctuary on three occasions. This was mostly shot along the the walk that loops around shelters 1 to 5. This is easy enough for all ages to enjoy - do wear suitable footwear and be prepared for a stiff breeze. Should the sea mist roll in, expect to get cold and damp very quickly. The donkeys do tend to stay within the confines of their yards and shelters during breakfast and afternoon tea, but in between times will likely be found enjoying life outside in their fields. Please do remember that these donkeys are not pets, and whilst they often appreciate a chest or backside scratch from humans, it must always be on their terms. Keep well away from their eyes and especially their mouths, as to a donkey, fingers do look like carrots!
