History of Glass: MU Museum of Art and Archaeology Presentation

Making glass is an ancient art, but where, when and how did it begin? This virtual talk will explore the discovery of glass-making, the techniques used through the ages and the civilizations known for their involvement in the art. We will explore early glass in the form of beads, ornaments, jewelry and vessels; glass in the classical cultures of Greece and Rome; Medieval stained glass; trading in glass; and modern works in glass.
