The build of Grand Alain the radio control model coastal freighter.

7 months or so from a fibreglass hull to completion, no plans just a vague idea of what I wanted, a bit art deco, set in time around the 20's or 30's and quirky. 12 volt scooter battery powered, homemade smoke machine (water and ultrasonic thingy). Grand Alain is 1.2 meters long and faster than he should be, handling is surprisingly nimble, weighs a lot, running 4kg of ballast. radio gear by Futaba, 850 motor by como drills.
