Daniel Garcia entered the match holding the Limitless World Championship, ESW Heavyweight Championship, and C4 Championship, while Wheeler Yuta stood across from him as the reigning IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion. On the same night Pro Wrestling Illustrated officially recognized the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship as a World Championship, Yuta defended the title against Garcia in one of the most talked-about matches of their careers to that point.
