Zildjian vs Sabian vs Paiste: Who Really Wins?

Every major cymbal brand ranked and explained — Zildjian, Paiste, Sabian, Meinl, Istanbul Agop and Mehmet, Bosphorus, UFIP, Wuhan and Dream — counted down from 9 to 1 by how much each one shaped the sound of drumming. One company on this list got its name from a sultan. Another was named after its founder's three kids, right after he fell out with his brother over the family business. And one spent decades selling Italian cymbals under made-up Turkish names. Here's the story behind every major cymbal maker, the alloys and series that define them, and the drummers who made them famous. Featuring the Zildjian A, K and K Constantinople, Paiste 2002 and Signature, Sabian AA, HH and Paragon, Meinl Byzance, the Istanbul Agop Signature, Bosphorus New Orleans, the Wuhan Lion China and Dream Bliss. Plus the cymbals behind Ringo Starr, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Chad Smith, Danny Carey, Alex Van Halen, Mel Lewis, Stanton Moore, Matt Halpern, Cindy Blackman and Paul Wertico.
