When storms rage on and earth gives way When waters roar and mountains quake When floods of fear come pounding hard The Spirit moves, confirms in us The faith by which we stand The faith that we hold fast Quenches every fiery doubt Not moved by winds of man We believe God’s word is true And trust His mighty power The rock of any hope we have The faith by which we stand 2. We may be tempted, crushed, or tried Or sorely pressed on every side In these hours and through the years God's gracious hand holds us secure 3. The thief would come to kill, destroy And plotting ways to steal our joy Through the myriad of lies We place our confidence in Christ 4.
