1/350 scale model of USS Enterprise CVN-80, 3rd Ford Class Carrier - II

This is a 1/350 scale model of the 3rd Ford Class US Navy aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise, CVN-80. It's a second video because I wanted to say things a little differently. See:    • 1/350 Scale CVN-80 USS Enterprise Ford Cla...   for the better video of this model. First steel was cut for the carrier in 2017 and she is expected to be launched in the 2022 time frame. She will join the USS Gerald Ford, CVN-79, which was just commissioned into the US Navy, and the USS John F. Kennedy which is to be launched next year. She is shown here with an air wing representative of the 2030s, when the 6th generation Grumman or Boeing aircraft have entered service and joined the F-35C 5th generation aircraft that are just coming out now. She has also been built with the new laser weapons systems and rail guns expected to be available for US ships in the mid to late 2020s. She has been built with a completely detailed and lighted hangar deck too. There is no current model kit for this ship. She has been made up from a 1/350 scale Trumpeter Nimitz class model and had all of the changes for the stern, the bow, the island, the airwing, the defensive weaponry, and the deck layout built up from scratch built parts, aftermarket kits, and quite a few 3D Printed parts from Shapeways 3D available on line.
