The de Havilland DH.115 Vampire was a British-designed early jet aircraft that entered service in the 1940s. Known for its distinctive twin-boom tail and compact design, the Vampire served with the Royal Air Force and numerous other air forces around the world. Australia also manufactured Vampires locally, including two-seat trainer versions for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This video was filmed on 10 October 2026 at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) Aviation Museum at Shellharbour Airport (YSHL/WOL), Albion Park, approximately 110 km south of Sydney, Australia. Featured is the HARS de Havilland DH.115 Vampire T.35 jet trainer, registration A79-637 (VH-FJW), a former RAAF two-seat trainer built in the 1950s at de Havilland's Bankstown factory in Sydney. Approximately 80 Vampires were manufactured locally in Australia. The aircraft is part of HARS's active collection and is planned to be restored to airworthy condition. It regularly participates in engine runs, ground taxiing and tarmac events, offering visitors an opportunity to experience this historic jet aircraft up close. Enjoy the sights and sounds of this classic early jet as it taxis on the ground at Shellharbour Airport! Camera: SONY RX10 IV #dehavilland #vampire #RAAF #HARS #Aviation #Warbirds
