The Banshee of Ballymore - Don't Answer the Voice in the Dark | Irish Halloween Folk Song 🎃☘️

*The Banshee of Ballymore is an Irish Halloween folk song blending traditional Irish music, Celtic folklore, haunting storytelling and a driving Irish pub sing-along. 🎃☘️* One October night in Ballymore, an old Irish legend comes calling from the mist — and one fearless young man makes the mistake everyone warned him about. *THE STORY* The people of Ballymore know the warning. When a woman's voice carries across the heather after dark, you don't answer. Tige has heard the old Irish folklore since childhood — and never believed a word of it. Until one October night. A voice rises beyond the pub. Tige laughs. Then he whistles a melody into the darkness. And something in the mist *sings the same melody back.* The fiddle falls silent. The room stops talking. And the voice starts getting closer. By sunrise, Tige has learned something Ballymore will never let him forget: Sometimes the fellow laughing loudest at an old legend is simply the fellow who hasn't met it yet. 🎃 🍀Subscribe to The Merry Shamrock    / @themerryshamrock   🎵**STREAMING & SUPPORT** 🎧Stream/Download: Coming soon! 💰Membership:   / @themerryshamrock   Follow my other channel - Drunken Irish Bard:    / @drunkenirishbard   ❤️Thank you for supporting original Irish folk music. *LYRIC HIGHLIGHT* “Oh, the Banshee of Ballymore, Never answer, nevermore, Raise your stout up high, But when you hear her cry, Keep your feet inside the floor!” Would you have listened to the people of Ballymore — or would you have answered the voice in the mist like Tige? Sláinte! ☘️The Merry Shamrock brings the spirit of traditional Irish pub storytelling into original modern songs filled with wild characters, bad decisions, pints, fiddles and the occasional character nobody was sensible enough to leave alone. The songs begin with original ideas and original lyrics inspired by Irish folk storytelling and pub-song traditions. Modern AI creative tools such as Suno are used as part of the music creation process, helping turn those original stories into lively modern Irish folk productions. The heart remains the same: original storytelling, Irish spirit and songs made to sound better when the whole pub joins in. 🔒COPYRIGHT © 2026 The Merry Shamrock.
