Sirens sound, radar stations report incoming raids, and across southern England, pilots run toward their fighters. Spitfires and Hurricanes rise to meet them. This song was created for September 15th – Battle of Britain Day – commemorating one of the defining days of the Battle of Britain in 1940 and remembering those who fought in the skies above Britain. “Merlins Over England” is a heavy metal tribute to the pilots and ground crews of the Royal Air Force during the Battle of Britain. From the cliffs of Dover to the skies above London, they fought day after day while the Rolls-Royce Merlin thundered above their homeland. Not a song about conquest. A song about holding the line. From Dover cliffs to London skies, the Merlins rise.
