Are you ready to be absorbed into the divine? Join St Francis on this journey. 3rd Oct 2026 marks 800 years since the death of St Francis of Assisi. His Feast is on Oct 4th. The Absorbeat (Prayer of St Francis) Music by Adrian Green, text traditional, attributed to St Francis This piece was commissioned in 2020, to celebrate the 800th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi founding the Third Order in 1221. I took two musical ideas (the first, a melody for the first sentence of the prayer, the second, a melody for the last sentence). These were then interwoven in various iterations to create a meditative musical patchwork. Adrian Green May the power of your love, Lord Christ, fiery and sweet as honey, so absorb our hearts as to withdraw them from all that is under heaven. Grant that we may be ready to die for love of your love, as you died for love of our love. Amen. This album brings together sacred choral works by composers united by a shared philosophical and theological outlook, offering a sequence that explores stillness, meaning, and the deeper resonance of text through music. Drawn together by a love of music, of philosophy, and of the Christian tradition, their approach is shaped in part by the teaching of Leon MacLaren, a self-taught polymath whose search in pursuit of life’s deeper questions informed a distinctive understanding of sound, listening, and creativity. • Order your digital download or CD with free shipping at https://conviviumrecords.co.uk/produc...
