Big Brother Cheng (1975) is a hard-hitting urban action drama centered on Wang Cheng, known on the streets as Boss Cheng (Chen Kuan-tai), the tough yet principled owner of the Chengchi Restaurant. In a city plagued by corruption and violent gangs, Cheng wages a one-man war against criminals who prey on the weak. From con men exploiting innocent waitresses to ruthless thugs committing rape and murder, Boss Cheng delivers swift, brutal justice when the law proves too slow or compromised. His growing reputation as a protector of the people turns him into a folk hero, but also paints a target on his back. As rival gang leader Prince Chi seeks revenge, tragedy strikes when Cheng’s wife is murdered and his closest allies are killed. Consumed by grief and rage, Boss Cheng launches into a final bloody confrontation with the underworld, pushing himself beyond physical limits and moral boundaries.
