Major Incident Brings Station to a Standstill | Paddington Station S2 E16 | Our Stories

Paddington is hit with huge delays after a man is hit by a train at Southall. Paddington Control is told not to dispatch any trains, and to not to mislead any customers, all advice boards are blacked out. With the concourse quickly filling up, Customer Ambassadors do their best to re-route passengers to other stations. During the chaos at Paddington, the power out on track is accidentally switched off, causing even more delays. British Transport Police are called in to help with crowd control. Just as the network gets back on track, Station Control spot a man opening the door of the 19.03 to Plymouth on platform one, and a bag toppling out onto the tracks. The train has to leave as scheduled, but the bag's owner threatens to jump onto the track to retrieve it, and the police are once again called to help. Meanwhile, hundreds of train enthusiasts descend on Paddington to get a glimpse of the world-famous Flying Scotsman. Rail staff and Transport Police are on the platforms to ensure no-one tries to get onto the tracks for a photo opportunity of the locomotive - and to catch a cheeky glimpse of it for themselves.
