It’s Week 4 of our Disney and Horror mini-series in honour of Halloween, and this week, it’s all about Mickey Mouse! Though his first Horror-themed short appeared in 1929, this episode concentrates on the Television specials and episodes made in the 21st century, ranging from a couple of episodes of MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE right through to the Stop-Motion limited series produced in the mid-2020s. Come hear all about Mickey’s role in Disney’s Halloween celebrations, and then go watch some of these funny, charming, and (occasionally) surprisingly grim offerings featuring our old pal, Mickey! Be sure to LIKE my video, SUBSCRIBE to my channel for more discussions of Gothic films, novels, television shows, etc., and COMMENT to let me know what you think of the works I’m examining, whether there’s a work you’d like me to look at, or just what you think of my reviews. About Me: I’m Dr. A.M. Davis, and am a Novelist moving toward publication, as well as a Film Historian/Former Academic with a PhD in 20th Century Popular Cultural History who did her PhD thesis on representations of human femininity in Disney’s animated feature films. I’m now building my career as a novelist (Gothic Horror), and the videos I create for YouTube under The World of AM Davis: Gothic Edition are part of my research/analysis of how Gothic themes manifest in popular culture. I hope you enjoy watching them! I certainly enjoy making them. I’ve also published a number of different papers and chapters over the years, mostly (but not exclusively) on Walt Disney, various Disney Films, and the Aesthetics of Animated Realism. I’ve also published a co-written paper on The Simpsons, and dabbled a bit in Italian Giallo films, co-authoring two papers on them.
