A demonstration of the Long Bow - Bridge, and Long Bow - Fingerboard Exercises, from Dr. Morton's Torturous Exercises for the Double Bass. This is an exercise first shown to me by Stuart Sankey in 1978. PURPOSE: To build a rich tone, volume, projection, and bow control. Also, to learn where the limits of tone production are and how to play near them. https://shop.doublebasshq.com/product... Dr. Mark Morton, Professor of Double Bass at Texas Tech University. #doublebass #stringbass markmortonbass.com https://www.depts.ttu.edu/music/ Take it easy! As with playing anything, if at any time you experience pain in the hand or arm, STOP PLAYING IMMEDIATELY, rest awhile, and gently stretch out before resuming practice. Continuing to play with pain may cause damage to the tendons or muscles.
