VANLIFE ON SCOTLAND’S COAST - A SETBACK BEFORE PERTH

Eight weeks into driving the entire coastline of mainland Scotland while living in my van, I hit the first real setback of the journey. My lithium leisure batteries begin failing, voltage dropping overnight and forcing me to idle the engine just to get through the night. After days of waiting for a replacement battery to arrive, I strip out the old setup, upgrade the wiring and rebuild the system properly before getting back on the road. With power restored, the journey continues into Perth, where I visit the Perth Museum to see the Stone of Destiny and the final letter written by Mary Queen of Scots before heading to The Black Watch Museum as this chapter of the road trip comes to a close.
