What does a zero‑emissions future look like for ports and maritime operations?
In this Hugo Neu Sustainability Seminar, we dive into how New York State and New York City are working to decarbonize an often‑overlooked sector: ports and maritime transportation.
Following the passage of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), New York has set nation‑leading goals: 85% greenhouse gas reductions by 2050, 100% emissions‑free electricity by 2040, and a net‑zero economy by mid‑century.
Drawing on real‑world examples from Norway and pilot projects across the U.S., the seminar highlights what’s already working, from electrification to cleaner fuels to zero‑emissions port operations.
Learn about the challenges facing the maritime industry, the practical solutions emerging today and the environmental and public‑health benefits these transitions can bring to nearby communities and the region as a whole.
