So I kinda talked a little in the CTM Discord but I'll put my full thoughts here. So my goal from the very beginning was the maxout and level 30, but those are relatively achievable goals, and while it did take me a while to achieve both (7 months for the max, and for me to learn rolling for lvl 30), neither really pushed me as much as I thought. The player I looked up to at the time was Joseph, and he had been getting 1.3 for a while so that became my new goal, and along with that level 35 as well. I considered both of these goals to be hard enough. I didn't know this at the time, but while it took me 7 months to achieve a maxout, it took me almost 4 years to achieve 1.3 and lvl 35. This was mainly due to me learning rolling not long after getting my first 1.1. Learning rolling was a struggle to say the least. I never got it down as much as I should, and it continued to eat away at me for years. I hit a major plateau and found myself stuck. Because of this, I took a lot of breaks to hopefully clear my mind, but this never helped and I only delayed this. I was going into my senior year of high school when I first started the grind, and I got this a day before I started my senior year of college. It's been a long grind, but it felt amazing. There aren't many people to thank as I drifted away from the community over the years, but huge shoutout to CryticalLapis for giving me some tips after he beat me in CTL Summit. I took another break a bit after that, but it felt like a wakeup call, and for the first time in forever, I started to see progress on 29 which was a huge motivation boost. Also to Joseph for inspiring me to go for this, and to Scout for being, well, Scout. This is likely the end of the grind for me. No doubt I'll keep playing, and it's possible I'll get the rollover sometime in the future, but with my life now catching up, I feel satisfied in how far I've come. I was also able to do this with competitive too. I competed in my first online tourney in 3 years and won my division and made it to the semis. I'm considering doing actual Tetris content about the scene but that's for future me to decide. Until then, it's been a wild (and long) ride to say the least. But the end has finally arrived. And it feels great. Stats here: Overall Pb: 1,289,780 --- 1,504,100 19 Pb: 1,289,780 --- 1,504,100 Post transition pb: 250k something, definitely a new pb Level pb: 33 and 279 lines --- 38 and 325 lines Post transition pb: around 700k --- 890k Note: I paused I believe 4 times, twice before transition and twice post transition. This was to adjust my glove. I hadn't taken the game serious until around level 23 or 24.
