In Paray-le-Monial, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque bears witness to the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Why did her visions arouse so much suspicion? Discover her story in “Love for Love.”
This film by the Sancteo collective (12 min 36 s) traces her childhood in Burgundy, her entry into the Visitation, the apparitions of 1673 to 1675, and the support of Saint Claude La Colombière. It also recalls the message meant for King Louis XIV and the spread of devotion to the Sacred Heart down to our own day: the Holy Hour, the First Fridays, consecration, and the little pictures of the Heart of Jesus worn close to the heart.

ABOUT THE RECONSTRUCTION
The words attributed to Christ are taken from the Autobiography and letters of Saint Margaret Mary. Some lines have been adapted and some passages brought together for the story. The dramatized exchanges with the people around her, notably the line about the soup, are not attested historical quotations.
In this English version, the words of Jesus and of Saint Margaret Mary are taken from the English text of Dilexit nos (vatican.va) or from older published English translations, chiefly the 1930 edition of her Autobiography, with “thee” and “thou” rendered as “you”; a few lines were translated from the French for this film.
The link between 1689 and 1789 drawn in the film is a spiritual interpretation; it does not demonstrate a historical cause and effect.
Private revelations recognized by the Church are not binding on faith in the way the Word of God is (Dilexit nos, § 83).
The reconstructed faces are artistic representations, not authentic portraits.
